Ali akbar Majidi-Jirandehi

I graduated with a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Birjand in September 2018. During my PhD, I mainly focused on fracture mechanics (using drop weight tear and Charpy tests) and microstructure investigations (using scanning electron and optical microscopes) on high toughness steels and their welding behavior. In addition, I contributed on an industrial project such as quasi-static (3-Point bending) testing on steels. I believe that these professional experiences have provided me with the research and development skills which are essential for performing research in the field of mechanical properties of different steels. I enjoyed research work on the mechanical behavior. After my PhD graduation, I am continuing teaching at the Department of Mechanical Engineering in Payame Noor University (PNU) in several courses like statics, strength of materials, dynamics and technical English and also, managed to set up an impact test laboratory as well as continuing my research on mechanical testing of steels and instrumenting of Charpy impact test machine. I am confident that my past practical experiences, strong academic background, as well as communication skills coupled with thorough preparation and enthusiasm for the subject will make me a competent researcher to start new position in the field of Materials Engineering. I have published several journal and conference papers with my students and colleagues. Indeed, I believe improving communication with the student body is paramount. My efforts in enhancing the student experience have helped the department achieve a reputation for transparency and innovation.
